It’s been too long
since I played
in the mud
danced in the rain
or on the ballroom
floor for that matter

It’s been too long
since I’ve been to
a slumber party
jumped on the bed
giggled my way
through the night

since I woke up
laughing, giddy
with the promise
of a new day

since I hugged
a tree and felt
it hugging me

I think I hear the
rain – time to get
out my dancing shoes
